So I went and saw Valkyrie yesterday, although Tom Cruise isn't my favorite actor to say the least I was kinda excited about this movie. It looked good and it was an interesting story. Seeing the movie these two things don't disappoint the imagery is fantastic and the story about the forgotten German resistance is amazing. Still while you lived with the characters you wanted to see their plan succeed, sadly the fact you know it failed kinda ruinces the movie. Each scene that gets you on the edge of your seat is immediately broken of by the thought "Hitler won't die". So you're just looking at guys that have a great plan and you want to see how they'll do it, but they'll be shot so you stop the love you get for the heroes. So the conclusion is the movie is an amazing cinematic prestation by the director, the actors, even Tommy boy, are really cool, but you can't live the story so it's a cold experience just like an history lesson.
